Doha is at its finest from November to April, when warm, sunny days are perfect for the Corniche, the souq and the beaches, peaking in the mild winter months — this is the city's liveliest, most popular season. Summers are very hot and humid, which makes them the bargain season, when Doha's luxury hotels offer their best rates and life moves to the air-conditioned malls, museums and indoor attractions. Spring and autumn bookend the cool season with pleasant, warm weather.

Doha is one of the easiest Gulf cities to get around: the modern, driverless Doha Metro runs three lines that meet downtown and reach West Bay, the cultural districts and Hamad International Airport, with feeder shuttle buses to nearby stops. The cream-coloured Karwa taxis are widely available by app or on the street, and ride-hailing apps are easy to use. Many central areas — the Corniche, Souq Waqif and West Bay — are pleasant to explore on foot.
